This object corresponds to the Farewell Booklets, and more, precisely, to the people of Japan, who either lost their lives or their homes, and were forced to leave them behind due to the massive earthquake, tsunami and nuclear disaster in spring 2011. The object is a piece of fabric, embroidered with the story of the illustrated booklet, wrapped around a brickstone of a deconstructed house. The kind of fabric and the art of wrapping it around an object is called Furoshki.
Furoshki is a traditional way to transport clothes, gifts, and other goods in Japan. In recent concern of environmental protection, it has become popular habit again.
